1. What is the internet and internet marketing?

The Internet is a global network of computers linked together, allowing people to communicate and share information around the world. The World Wide Web is a graphical component of the Internet that has standardized a technical structure and protocol for displaying the information. A "web browser" like Netscape or Microsoft Explorer is used to view all this information in full colour text, graphic, video and audio format, all over regular telephone lines.

Internet marketing, in simple terms, is business marketing activities taking place through this electronic process and being distributed to hundreds of millions of potential customers worldwide via their computers.

Businesses, big and small, are using the internet to advertise and sell their products and services to millions of potential customers. "Virtual Malls" allow people to view products, place orders, receive information and ask questions. Product information, catalogues, pricing and more can be downloaded by customers, without printing, courier, fax or long distance charges.

2. How many people use the internet?

The number of Internet users around the world is constantly growing. The Computer Industry Almanac has reported that by the year 2002, 490 million people around the world will have Internet access, that is 79.4 per 1,000 people worldwide, and 118 people per 1,000 by year-end 2005. The top 15 countries will account for nearly 82 percent of the these worldwide Internet users (including business, educational, and home Internet users). Right now, there are 25 countries where over 10 percent of the population are Internet users.

The US has an overwhelming lead in Internet users with more than 110 million estimated users at the year-end of 1999, which is nearly 43 percent of the total 259 million worldwide Internet users. The US will have one-third of the total Internet users in 2002, and that number will decline to 27 percent by the end of 2005.

3. How will it help my business?

  • You can advertise products and services in colour text, graphics and pictures
  • Reach an audience of many millions (and growing) potential customers worldwide
  • Save money in producing brochures, catalogues, sales and long distance charges
  • Interact with customers worldwide, instantly, and with no long distance charges
  • Update or enhance your information as often as you wish with little or no costs
  • Customers can download product brochures or price lists instantly, at no cost
  • It's inexpensive marketing for the quality and worldwide coverage you get

4. Do you offer web page design services ?

Yes, we do offer high-quality web page design services, as well as CGI and JAVA custom scripting at reasonable rates. Visit our design page for more information and a list of reference web sites that we have created. To get a price quote for your specific project contact paragon@marketersnet.com.

5. Can I check domain name availability ?

Yes. We would be pleased to search any domain name or names you desire for FREE. Simply go to our domain name search page and follow the submission instructions there.

6. Does Paragon Marketing Services Inc. handle domain registrations ?

Absolutely. We are pleased to do a FREE search for the availability of your desired domain name and to take care of all registration processes as well. Once your order is confirmed we will contact the InterNIC to request either a new domain name registration in your behalf or transfer your domain from your current provider to the new DNS. You do NOT need to submit a registration or modification template to the InterNIC as this will only delay your request.

7. Can I use my account for commercial purposes ?

Absolutely. You can use your account for commercial purposes. The World Wide Web has become a most efficient and cost-effective means of making information available to the users of the internet community. If desired, Netscape compatible SSL data encryption/secure processing is available for all our packages. SSL provides an environment whereby payment information (such as a credit card number) can be transmitted from the web browser to a web server in an encrypted mode.

8. Do you accept international orders ?

Sure. We are pleased to have customers around the world and we are as close as your computer. If desired, we can host non-US domain name extensions.

9. How can I contact Internet Communications ?

You can contact us in many different ways including by phone at (604) 533-0990, by fax at (604) 533-0611 or by email at paragon@marketersnet.com

10. How long has Paragon Marketing Services Inc. been in business ?

Paragon Marketing Services Inc. has been in business since the end of 1992, initially starting by offering marketing consulting and promotional materials development for small to medium size businesses. As the internet evolved, Paragon Marketing Services Inc. began offering internet marketing and website development to their clients and other organizations who wanted to offer their products and services internationally through the internet and it’s associated technologies. Today Paragon Marketing Services Inc., now operating for over eight years, is comprised of educated, skilled individuals who offer and successfully implement a diverse range of strategic internet business solutions. We offer complete packages of internet-based technical, marketing and communications services to our clients.

11. Can I make money with you ?

Yes. We offer opportunities for you to make money selling our services. Visit our Associate's Program page for more details.

12. What is 'propagation'?

Once the InterNIC announces that your domain name has been registered (or transferred, if applicable), it usually takes about 3 to 5 working days before it is active. All internet providers must update their records and name servers (DNS tables) to reflect new site locations. This is called propagation.

13. Do you offer internet access ?

Paragon Marketing Services Inc. does not and will not provide internet access. We decided to have our services dedicated to our WWW customers only. That way we can stay focused on supplying the best web hosting and development services.

14. Will I have unlimited access to update my pages ?

Depending on your package, you will have unlimited access via FTP 24-hours a day. As such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your web site at your leisure. Or, we can take care of all design, file uploads, website maintenance and other tasks for you.

15. Do you have any data transfer charge for MB's/month ?

We do not charge our customer for any data transfer since we do not have any transfer limit at all.

16. Can I check your hosting/company policy somewhere ?

Yes. Every new customer needs to read and agree to our web hosting policy or they cannot submit an account application. We have published our entire terms/service contract here so everybody can check our policy at anytime.

17. How is your stand on spamming ?

We do have a strict policy against spamming! Users who spam via E-mail, newsgroups, etc. are not allowed on our web servers. We define "spamming" as the distribution of unsolicited e-mail to other users or user groups that did not specifically ask f or the information. It doesn't matter if you use our mail servers to spam or if your hire a company to send those mailings for you. After the first complaint from other users, you will receive a warning. If we receive more complaints your site will be removed and you account will be cancelled. This is a zero toleration policy! Spamming is not allowed with any Paragon Marketing Services Inc. account.

18. What is your policy on adult oriented sides ?

It is our policy NOT to host adult oriented web sites. There are various legal and ethical reasons as to why we have decided to instigate this policy.

Mall or I-Mall
A mall or I-mall on the World Wide Web (like the TOPS BUSINESS MALL at http://www.topbusiness.com) is much like a shopping mall in your local town. It is a Web site that allows merchants to set up "shops" within their site. If your Web site is located in a mall or has a listing there, you will benefit from the traffic generated by every other member of the mall. Because malls are hot spots on the Web, you will reach prospective customers that you never would have reached alone.

URL
It is the abbreviation for Uniform Resource Locator. Most of the time it looks like http://www.domainname.com. The URL specifies your unique address on the Internet.
